Robert E. Cunningham, 78, of McConnelsville passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at Highland Oaks Health Center. He was born December 11, 1942 in Stockport to the late Wayland Cunningham and Goldie Thornley Cunningham. Robert was a U. S. Army veteran and retired from the Ohio National Guard after 35 years of service. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed tinkering. Robert is survived by a daughter, Mysti Cunningham (Kevin) of Vienna, WV; a son, Thomas (Jackie) Cunningham of Malta; a grandson, Ryan Cunningham; and three great grandchildren; Brantley Cunningham, Kinsley Cunningham, and Kasyn Cunningham. Also surviving is a sister, Shirley Calendine; a brother, Chester Cunningham of Stockport; and two special friends, Ryan Cunningham and Caitlin McCoy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn "Dawnie" Gladden Cunningham; three sisters, Maxine Cunningham, Betty Bebout, Georgia Sartor; and three brothers, Elmer, Harley and Wayne Cunningham. Due to current Covid 19 health concerns, a private graveside service will be held. Robert will be laid to rest beside his wife in Malta Cemetery.
