Rodney Eugene White, 73, of Malta passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Adams Lane Care Center in Zanesville. He was born October 25, 1948 in Zanesville. Rodney served 5 years in the U. S. Army and served 2 tours in Vietnam and 1 tour in Germany, where he was a mechanic. He enjoyed family gatherings, his blue Harley trike, and riding his bike with friends and going out to eat. Rodney worked in the oil field, farm work, and worked several years as a custodian at the Riecker Building in McConnelsville. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24 of McConnelsville and the VFW Post #4713 of Malta. Rodney is survived by his mother, Marjorie McElroy White of Chesterhill; a brother, Bill (Daveen) White of Newark; 2 sisters, Phyllis (Jim) Staugh of Beverly and Kathy (Roland) Stanley of Chesterhill; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and uncles, Wayne and Butch McElroy. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Earl and Bessie White and Scott and Lucille McElroy; father, Eugene White; a sister, Marjorie Ann Farnsworth; two brothers, Gary Lee White, Mark Allen White; and a great niece, Jacy Oriana Stanley. Calling hours will be Monday, November 8, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. and Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 12-1 p.m. at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Rodney will be laid to rest in Dutch Hill Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
