Samanthia (Samantha/Sam) Lou (Schmelzer) Tennent

Samanthia (Samantha/Sam) Lou Tennent of McConnelsville, Ohio passed away at the age of 76 on October 1, 2023. Samantha was the only daughter of the late Leo and M. Ruth Schmelzer of Zanesville, Ohio and only Granddaughter of the late Samuel and Ada (Taylor) Showers also of Zanesville,Ohio and Anthony and Inez (Burgoon) Schmelzer, Jr.

She is survived by her five  daughters, Tammy (Emil) Reed, Teresa (Donald) Coleman, Jamie Niceswanger, Cinda (Chris Doak) Erickson, and Elizabeth (Ryan) Stephens.  Samantha had 15 Grandchildren,  Zachary, Emily, Robbie, Andrea, Alyson, Aubrey, Alivia, Nicholas, Gabriella, Jasper, Brooke, Bradly, Henry, Laney, and Jacob; and 11 Great-Grandchildren and one on the way. Samantha worked at Morgan Local Schools as a bus driver and custodian for almost 20 years, she also worked hard at various other side jobs, often cleaning and painting.  Sam loved baking pies and she always enjoyed visiting everyone, friends and family! She never met a stranger. 

Her final resting place will be Stovertown Cemetery with her parents and grandparents. The family will have a celebration of life gathering on November 4,2023 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Meigsville Community Center located at 2520 St. Rt. 60 McConnelsville, Ohio.
