Thea M. Nichols 87, of Malta passed away May 10, 2022 at 6:27 a.m. at the James with son, Ken and daughter in law, Barbara at her bedside. She was born May 11, 1934 in Morgan County the daughter of the late, Aldered Shilling and Edna Shepard Shilling. Thea worked at the Doughnut Shoppe in Malta, cleaned homes, and worked at Central Market in McConnelsville. Thea was a member of Wolf Creek Church of Christ. She studied the Bible and scriptures came easily to her memory. Thea loved birds and knew each kind that visited her feeders. Thea had a way with hummingbirds as she had dozens at the feeders each summer. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Barb) Nichols of Malta, Chuck (Kathy) Nichols of Thornville, Kevin (Kay) Nichols of McConnelsville; grandchildren, Kim Haines, Kelly Daniel, Kylee Nichols, Kaylyn Nichols, Jennifer Nichols, Julie Nichols, and Jack Nichols; great grandchildren, Emily Haines, Madalyn Daniel, Andrew Haines, Ava Haines, and Alana Daniel; brother, Jack (Jo Ann) Shilling of Zanesville; and a sister, Sharon (Keith) Shaner of Zanesville. Thea was pre- ceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Nichols who died Jan. 2, 2016; and twin great grandchildren, Makenzie and Makayla Daniel. Friends may call 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. A graveside service will follow at Wolf Creek Cemetery near Malta with Nathan Daniel officiating.
