Velma Jean Swain, 97, of Stockport passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Riverside Landing Nursing & Rehab in McConnelsville. She was born May 26, 1928 in Perry County a daughter of the late, Harvey Moore and Bessie Cavinee Moore. Velma had worked for 20 years at Phillips Industries in Malta and attended the Chesterhill Nazarene Church. She loved flowers and birds. Velma is survived by a daughter, Joy Lee (Roger) McBride and a son, Mark Douglas (Carmen) Swain all of Stockport; four grandchildren, Matthew (Melinda) Swain, Shawn (Kayla) Swain, Jennifer (Nathan) Harlan, Alicia (Tyler) Breecis; great grandchildren, Olivia and Cohen Harlan, Graci and Gage Swain, Mason and Myles Swain, Elowen and Jack Breecis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lela Marie Bobo, Lucille Brandau, and Rosella Hartley, five brothers, John, Harold, Elmer, Rollan, and Pearl Moore. Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., with Pastor Mike Wells officiating and she will be laid to rest in Stockport Cemetery.
